When trying to market footwear online, there are many standards that must be met to ensure that the consumer is being marketed to fairly. There are several main rules when it comes to advertising your running footwear over the internet.
Running Shoe Regulations
- All footwear must be authentic
- All photos must come from a reliable source
- Any statements made about the shoes must be factual
- No false advertising
Those are the main rules when it comes to advertising your running shoe brands online.
All footwear must be authentic
Any shoes you are looking to sell must be 100% authentic with no modifications. They must come directly from the manufacturer and cannot be source from anywhere else.
All photos must come from a reliable source
When advertising running shoes, it is advised to only use photos that have been taken by the manufacturer or by the company. This is to ensure the photos used are 100% authentic and are identical to the product that the buyer will receive.
Any statements made about the shoes must be factual
If you make a statement about the shoes you are selling, the statement must be factual and verifiable. You cannot sell shoes that are intended for a purpose like running if they are not actually running shoes. This should be common sense but never the less we must mention it. For example you may not make statements such as “our product is the “best running shoes for heavy men” you would be in violation of the regulations of the CACCB.
No false advertising
This one goes hand in hand with the last regulation. You cannot falsely advertise products in any way, otherwise you will be in violation of the CACCB code of regulations.
Who is the CACCB?
We are The Canadian Advertising Counselors Certification Board and we are the regulative board in charge of the certification of advertising counselors in Canada. We are the oversight in place that is responsible to regulating the industry of advertising counselling.
What do we do?
If you want to be an advertising counselor in the country of Canada, you need to pass our certifications. We have measures in place to make sure that only the most qualified advertising counselors are able to counsel advertisers within all provinces of Canada.
